I started real estate in 1991 and sold my first house the day before Christmas of that year. The start was difficult with not too much real estate knowledge and very limited finances. Before joining real estate I worked for 3 years at Swiss Chalet in Pickering while going to school to improve my English and to become a teacher. That was what I was studying before emigrating to Canada.
The Swiss Chalet job was an amazing experience that thought me a lot about customer service. One day I served a real estate broker who told me I would be great in real estate. A week later my adventure began – I signed up for the real estate course. I had limitations, but also huge advantages; I was competitive and had lots of time. I had to make it! I first worked at Canada Trust, where in my first year and after driving about 100,000 kilometers, I was #3 in the office.
The year 1993 brought huge changes – I got married and moved to Re/Max; first it was Re/Max Executive. In 1997 my wife Zuzanna, who was a Registered Nurse, joined me in the real estate business. We became much more organized. She is my assistant and my office manager. They joke that if you hire your wife you may not have to pay her, but you cannot fire her either.
In 1998 I joined Re/Max Realtron, one of the top brokerages in real estate. I found myself between some of the top people in the industry. In 2000 I received my Re/Max Hall of Fame award from the Re/Max CEO, Dave Liniger at Re/Max International Convention in Las Vegas.
A lot of my business are past buyers who bought through me and now are selling, their children are buying, etc. In the real estate business, like in any business, providing good service, knowledge of the product and competitiveness are very important.
We are lucky enough that our clients enjoy dealing with us, some of them came back 2, 3, 4, even 5 times. Hopefully we can be lucky enough to count on you in the future. People don’t change what works and from our side we will always try hard and give our best.
